Men's Ministry Introduction

In One Word! Welcome to Shepherd of the Valleys Mens Ministry! During a Lutheran Men in Mission event in Chicago the question was asked, "In one word what is Mens Ministry about?" After much thought and dialogue the word chosen was "RELATIONSHIP." Its not about how many programs a church can pull off every month. Mens Ministry starts with Men making a commitment to meet, discuss and hold each other accountable in their walk with Jesus Christ. Men who listen to each other, care and are 'real.' Men who share where the 'itch' is in their lives, such as their 'passions and what makes them stumble?'

In 2008 we will continue to get 'MUDDY' In the Mens Ministry! Meet each man where they are. Understand each mans struggles. Develop relationships. Develop opportunities to meet mens struggles. Yes we care, we are Brothers in Christ. 2008 Ministry Goals include:

• Engage in a larger network of Mens Ministry in the Treasure Valley offering men of SOV more opportunities
• Encourage small group development and the use of LMMs Master Builders Bible (Note, this is a FREE resource to leaders who want to start a group)
• Continue to provide Men opportunities to get 'MUDDY'

Men's Bible Study / Prayer Breakfast

The Mens Bible Study / Prayer Breakfast is an opportunity to meet with other men in the church for a time of Fellowship, Encouragement, Prayer, and a great Continental Breakfast. Further, Pastor Jim leads and question and answer Bible study session on the Gospel message every 2nd Saturday of the month. All are welcomed to attend.

Mens Huddle Group
A Mens Huddle is a small group of men from the same local area who gather together weekly for Fellowship, Discipleship and Prayer. Joining a Mens Huddle will allow you to build quality relationships with other men, address many mens issues we face today and encourage one another through prayer and accountability. Mens Weekly Rally

SOV men meet every Wednesday morning from 6:30 to 7:30 at Moxie Java on Overland and Five Mile. This is a time for men to "rally together" for a mid-week time of Encouragement, Fellowship, Prayer, and Bible study. We will share our life victories and stand with one another during life challenges. You will meet new friends and receive current updates on activities and events within the Men's Ministry.
