Mutual Ministries Committee

The Mutual Ministry Committee will work to augment, strengthen, and bless the ministry of Shepherd of the Valley’s pastor, staff, and congregation by:

  • Providing personal and confidential support for the pastor and staff.
  • Maintaining open communications regarding attitudes, perceptions, and concerns within the congregation.
  • Acting as agents of reconciliation in times of conflict within the congregation.

Ministry is mutual, and ministry is shared. The Mutual Ministry Committee provides an avenue for the pastor and congregational members to raise issues or concerns, and will discuss and address the issues or concerns in a positive, effective, confidential, and healing fashion. The committee’s intent is to encourage and allow open dialogue that can prevent or identify misunderstandings within the congregation, preferably as early in the conflict cycle as possible. The committee’s paramount concern must be the spiritual and emotional health of the entire congregation, as well as of the congregation’s staff and individual members.

The current members of this committee are: Carmen Baker, Bob Parrish, Dana Miller, Liz Ridgeway and Marlys Erickson.
