Children's Church
Children's church takes place all year long during Sunday worship services. [every Sunday all year long.] Immediately following the Children's message, the children [kids] are given the choice of returning to their seats with mom and dad, or to leave the sanctuary and go to a classroom to participate in children's church.
During children's church, the kids interact together over the Gospel reading for that Sunday. After hearing the story of the day, they complete an activity or craft relating to the lesson, [have some time to color a picture relating to the story], which they proudly bring back into the sanctuary after the prayers of Intercession in the adult litury.
The prep work for children's church is accomplished by the directors and all the materials and script to work from are emailed to those who minister to our children through children's church. This ministry depends upon adults and youth from the congregation to supervise and facilitate the kids time together. Without ministers sharing the gospel with our children, this time of age-appropriate exploration could not happen. Without ministers sharing the ministry, this time of appropriate sharing with our kids couldn't happen.
